It is with great saddness that we say goodbye to Dr. Linda Williams. Linda lost her battle with breast cancer on Dec. 4, 2000. She was an Associate Professor of Communications at the University of the Pacific, and a lover of cats who served as President of the Delta Humane Society for many years. She is survived by her husband, Chris Halkin, at least 17 cats, her parents and a brother.

Linda and I became friends when she did a paper on Witch's Curses, and found a new interest in Goddess Culture. She was a source of inspiration in many ways, and especially as she went through her first round of chemotherapy after a lump removal. Her husband threw a great party after a year of freedom from cancer, but shortly thereafter more was found, and she left California for the comfort of family in Ohio. She assisted in review of papers in the Journal, but was never to return to UOP.

I shall miss her and her assistance with the Journal.

Goodbye, Linda, enjoy the summerland.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or The Wellness Community, 65 Ceramic Dr. Columbus, OH 43214.
